Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Service Project"Good works are links that form a chain of love." - Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta
Founded in 1982, the Food Bank has served many people in need. Statistics show that there are over 100,000 people living 125% under poverty in the 2 counties of the Food Bank service area (Lake & Porter). Statistics also state that 42.8% of the members of the households served by the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana are children under 18 and 10% are elderly. Opportunities to Get InvolvedAll Middle School students are invited and encouraged to answer our baptismal call to serve those in need and form a chain of love by helping at the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana! All 6th, 7th and 8th grade students of SJE are welcome to volunteer. We are always looking for Virtus-trained adults to volunteer as well. How to VolunteerIf you'd like your son or daughter to volunteer, please contact the ministry coordinator to pre-register students wishing to participate.
