Healthcare Ministry

“There are different kinds of spiritual gifts but the same spirit. There are different forms of service but the same Lord… To each individual the manifestation of the spirit is given for some benefit.”

The Healthcare Ministry of St. John the Evangelist Parish incorporates the concepts of person, environment, health and spirituality through a healthy lifestyle as mandated in the Gospel; which proclaims health and wholeness for all. With the assistance of parishioners who have backgrounds in healthcare, we strive to promote wellness of body, mind, and spirit by providing health screenings, educational opportunities and information on health-related topics.

The Healthcare Ministry promotes total wellness by meeting the unique needs and priorities of our parish across the life spans of our members. In the name of a healing Christ, we are better able to share the love, compassion and understanding of our Catholic faith.

Our current programming includes:

  • Biannual Blood Drive – August and January
  • Healthy lifestyle education presentations
  • Flu Vaccine Clinic – September
  • Blood Pressure Screenings – after Sunday Masses on the first weekend of the month or unless specified
  • Healthy Bites – monthly health information in the bulletin
