Hispanic Ministry

We, the Hispanic Ministry of St. John the Evangelist Church, St. John, Indiana, have united to achieve the following goals:

  1. To more deeply understand and fully commit to our religious faith, and to inspire others to do the same by our example.
  2. To actively assist and attempt to improve the lives of the unserved in our community, and whenever possible, reach out to the world at large, to our other brothers and sisters in need.
  3. To joyfully celebrate our diverse Latin cultures, our familial values, and to educate others as to the historic meaning, beauty, and importance of our customs, both social and religious.
  4. To encourage camaraderie and participation amongst not only our ministry, but that of other ministries within our Church as well as welcoming participation from others outside our St. John the Evangelist Ministries.
Opportunities to Get Involved

Activities include involvement in our Parish Festival, working with other ministries on service projects, bringing aspects of Hispanic culture and faith into our parish, and many more!

Banner Art Project: The Hispanic Ministry of St. John the Evangelist would like to extend an invitation for your family to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe through a family art project that will be displayed in the Narthex during our annual celebration mass Honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe on December 10, 2011.

This year the project will celebrate the Joyful mysteries:

  1. The Annunciation
  2. The Visitation
  3. The Birth of Our Lord
  4. The Presentation of Our Lord
  5. The Finding of Our Lord in the Temple

Over the next four (4) years we will create a banner for each set of the mysteries of the Rosary and ultimately bind the banners together and display them in the Narthex.
