Liturgy Board
Liturgy is 'the summit towards which the activity of the Church is directed... (and) the font from which all her power flows.'
Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, §10
What is Liturgy Board?
This group of parishioners meets throughout the year and serves two purposes. First, this group breaks open the Word of God for a particular liturgical season, and develops a focus to enhance the parish's spiritual connection to what is happening at weekly liturgy. Secondly, this board discusses and makes recommendations on certain policies guiding our liturgical practices. It is the goal of liturgy board to have a wide variety of people present, so that all areas of liturgical ministry are represented.
How would I know if I would make a good member of Liturgy Board?
Liturgy Board members are ultimately servants of the entire faith community; the essential qualities of a Liturgy Board member are humor, patience and a strong prayer life.
What would be the time commitment?
Meetings are held to discuss the above issues on an 'as needed' basis---usually about eight per year on a Monday or Tuesday evening. Anyone who has a desire to promote good liturgical practices and learn more about our faith through the liturgy are invited to join us.
