Mighty Acorns

From a little acorn, a mighty tree can grow!

Mighty Acorns is the SJE Youth Ministry Program for children in Kindergarten and 1st grade. Following our model of a "Continuum of Care", Mighty Acorns offers a fun, faith-filled environment where kindergartners and 1st graders can gather and begin to make those friendships that will last through their elementary years and beyond.

Mighty Acorns gatherings feature themed activities, such as, crafts, stories, songs, games and snacks that help them better understand and live their Catholic faith. Past programs have focused on the story of Noah and the Ark, the Holy Trinity, Christmas, Easter and the Resurrection, Stations of the Cross and the Holy Rosary.

How to Get Involved

Seekers meet on the 1st Friday of the month from 6:30-7:45 pm. View the Seekers Schedule for the specific location of each event. (Note: This program only meets during the school year.) We are always looking for Virtus-trained adults to volunteer as well.

Ministry Goal

Mighty Acorns will strive to bring the youth of St. John the Evangelist Parish into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through increased participation in the Youth Ministry Program.

Objectives

1. We will create an environment where Kindergarten and 1st grade students can interact with one another in a Christ centered environment.
2. We will begin to instill the foundations of our faith by stories, games, crafts and prayer.
