The Saint John the Evangelist School Advisory Council is
a consultative body, providing advice to the pastor and principal
on matters concerning the school and all associated activities.
Working collaboratively with the pastor and principal, the
Advisory Council assists in establishing both current and
future direction for the school as part of the total parish
mission. The Council develops the plans and means to finance
the school's educational programs, including tuition, development,
and fund raising. It also formulates and oversees the implementation
of the school's strategic plan.
Advisory Council membership consists of fourteen appointed individuals
and may include school and non-school parents. The pastor, principal,
Director of Development and a Home and School representative serve ex-officio.
In addition, each Council member belongs to at least one of five standing
committees:
- Academic/Religious Education
- Development/Marketing
- Finance
- Health/Wellness/Safety
- Mission Effectiveness/Council Development
Council
members recruit membership for the standing committees from the parent and
parish community and from the school faculty/staff. Committee members offer
their expertise and counsel in order to keep the school true to its mission
and purpose.
St. John the Evangelist's School Advisory Council meets on a
regular basis, August through June. Special meetings are called as necessary.
