Like all schools, St. John the Evangelist sponsors fundraisers to help bridge
the gap between its income and the actual cost of education as well as to raise
capital for special projects or needs the school may have. The school is funded
through four sources: tuition, parish subsidy, donations/grants, and fundraising.
The Home and School Association organizes and executes major fundraising events
which benefit the social and academic enrichment of our students. Fundraising
events also help to moderate tuition increases. Parent support through committee
involvement, event promotion, and actual sales and/or purchases is essential to
the success of these events.
All families are expected to participate in fundraising events that are
coordinated through the Home and School Association. Families who have only
preschool children are urged to participate actively in fundraising but are not
required to the extent of families with students in grades K-8.
All families of school-age children are required to sell/purchase
ten raffle tickets at $25.00 each. The proceeds from the raffle
are used to purchase items for the school, classrooms, library,
and technology. In the event that a family does not purchase
the raffle tickets, an additional $250.00 will be added to
the May 1st tuition.
Families are expected to help with the planning and execution
of at least two other events that raise funds for the school.

Option to "Opt Out" of Fundraising
In lieu of participating in any fundraiser or raffle, families
may choose to contribute $600.00 to the Home and School Association
on Fee Payment Day or by 3:00 pm August 19, 2010.
Although
they will be exempt from the requirements of fundraising,
families who opt out are still encouraged to join in the community
experience of helping with the events and programs at school.
Since families who opt out must still complete their annual
18 service hour requirement, participation on fundraising
committees is a great way to contribute service to the school.
