St. Vincent DePaul Society
The Society was founded in 1883 by Frederick Orzanam, a student at the University of Paris, who wanted to see to the needs of the poor during the Industrial Revolution. He also sought to encourage young people to ¯walk their talk by performing works of charity, visiting the sick and poor and assisting them both materially and spiritually.
