St. Vincent DePaul Society

The St. John the Evangelist St. Vincent DePaul Society is part of an international organization founded to serve the needs of the less fortunate who live in our community.

The Society was founded in 1883 by Frederick Orzanam, a student at the University of Paris, who wanted to see to the needs of the poor during the Industrial Revolution. He also sought to encourage young people to ¯walk their talk by performing works of charity, visiting the sick and poor and assisting them both materially and spiritually. Visit the SVDP National Council of the United States website.
