Teens For Christ is our Youth Group for high school aged teenagers! We meet EVERY Sunday from 5:30-8 pm at the Life House for Faith, Food & Fun! Check out the other TFC activities:

Teens for Christ Goals & Objectives

Goal I

To strive to bring the youth of St. John the Evangelist Parish into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ through increased participation in the Youth Ministry Program.

Objectives:

In order to foster a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ:

1. We will initiate adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Chapel following some evening events.
2. We will initiate evenings of Praise and Worship of the Blessed Sacrament in the Church and/or Teen House.
3. We will include participation in the Parish Rosary on some Sunday evenings.
4. We hope to lead the teens to a greater love for Christ, through all of the above. This should lead them to a greater love for their fellow man. If this happens it should lead them to a greater desire to do acts of service in their community and beyond. Here are a few service opportunities that our teens participate in:
1. Appalachia Mission Trip
2. Missionaries of Charity ¨ sacrificing a Saturday morning each month to help the sisters
3. Blankets & Sandwich Project
4. Carmelite Home

Goal II

To lead the Teens to a deeper understanding of Sacred Scripture through a Scripture based study program within the Teen Ministry.

Objectives:

1. We will have Teen nights devoted to studying Scripture.
2. We will develop small group discussion questions in which various Church Teachings will be discussed. These small groups will be preceded by an informational segment on the topics. Following the small groups the Teens will then return to the larger group to discuss any and all issues that developed in their discussions in order to be certain that their understanding is in accordance to Church Teaching. The Catechism of the Catholic Church will be used as the reference for any questions.

Goal III

To lead the Teens to a deeper awareness of the Catholic Church�s teaching on the sanctity of life from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death.

Objectives:

1. We will offer the teens an opportunity to be a part of a Pro-Life Ministry within Teens.
2. We will encourage Teens to attend the øMarch for LifeÓ in Washington, DC on the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade.
3. We will work with the Pro-Life Committee of the Peace and Social Justice Commission to teach the teens using speakers, videos and/or small group discussions about the horror of abortion and euthanasia.
