Volunteer as a Catechist Teacher or Aide

Catechists - share your love and relationship with Jesus with our parish children. Curriculum, faith formation, and material are provided to help you lead a class of 5-18 students.

Aides - work closely with the catechist and assist in whatever capacity needed for the class.

High School students - assist in office or classroom. This is also a good way to earn service hours.

RE at SJE is Christ-centered. Our RE program is tailored for children grades 1-8 who do not attend our parish school.

RE at SJE is structured to help deepen our children’s relationship with God by presenting the Scriptures, Church teaching, and liturgy in a way that meets them where they are in life.

Classes are held on Sunday mornings from 8:00 – 9:30 am or Monday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.

Registration

Registration for 2023-24 will be available starting March 14-15, 2023, until August 10, 2023.

Registration forms are available online, in the RE Office during RE classes, and at the Hospitality Desk on the weekends. For current students, registration forms will come home with the youngest child.

Classes will start August 20-21st.

Classes are filled on a first-come basis, so please register early; we will need ample time to order supplies, get digital class information set up, secure enough volunteers, etc.

For parishioners, the fee is $125 per child, which covers all books and supplies. There is a $25.00 non-refundable registration fee per family due at the time of registration, and half of the tuition is due on or before parent orientation. The remaining tuition balance is due by February 1st of that school year. If necessary, an individual payment plan can be set up.

Please note: Families who are transferring into our program from another parish should register with the parish before registering for RE. Transcripts from the previous program should be forwarded to our Office of Religious Education/Formation.
