The Holy Spirit. That was one of the striking realities Father Sammie Maletta recognized through the “On Mission” experience with St. Clement. He notes that what is happening in our parish is being echoed by Catholics and Catholic leaders thousands of miles away. St. Michael’s Lent is a 40-day period of prayer, fasting, and penance that runs from the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 15 through the Feast of St. Michael the Archangel on September 29. The tradition dates back centuries and was especially embraced by St. Francis of Assisi.
