"Something" that will change "everything" is here for you!

Are You Ready to Be Rescued?
What if the Gospel didn’t just feel like something you have heard before, but something you can truly understand and live?
What if it spoke directly into your life, answering your questions, easing your struggles, and igniting your hopes?
This is exactly what people are discovering through The Rescue Project at St. John the Evangelist. And we have another session beginning in May!
In a world that needs more than better behavior, a world that truly needs rescue, The Rescue Project offers something radically different. Created by Father John Riccardo and ACTS XXIX, this powerful experience invites you into the big picture of the Gospel. It explores why the world feels broken, why we feel that brokenness so personally, and how Jesus comes not just to improve things, but to rescue us.
Letting The Lord In
Each week, something begins to shift. The story of Jesus stops feeling distant and starts to feel personal, real, and deeply relevant. It becomes clear that this message is not just something to know, but something that matters for your life right now.
We will be gathering for Rescue Project on Tuesdays from May 26 through July 14 (taking July 7 off for St. John Fest) from 6:10 p.m. to 8:25 p.m. at the main church, 10701 Olcott Ave., St. John. Every Tuesday evening follows a simple yet meaningful schedule that creates space for transformation.
There’s also a retreat on Saturday, July 11, that brings everything together in a deeper way.
There is a shared meal, compelling video presentation, and group conversations that go deeper than surface level. It is in these conversations that something remarkable often happens. Walls come down, hearts open, and the message begins to take root in a lasting way.
And yes—everything is completely free, including babysitting.
Our Doors are Open Even Wider; Teens are Invited!
This season also brings an exciting new opportunity. For the first time, high school students are invited to fully participate. In a world filled with noise and pressure, this experience meets them right where they are. They will enjoy the same meal and video presentations. The Rescue Project content is engaging and relevant, speaking directly into the challenges they face today. Whether they attend with family or come on their own, teens will encounter a space that is welcoming, thoughtful, and deeply meaningful.
Now is the time
If you have experienced The Rescue Project at a home session before, consider coming again. Many people find that the second time allows the message to go even deeper. If you have participated in a home session, this is a beautiful opportunity to experience it within the larger parish community.
And if you have participated previously in one of the two sessions at the church, please consider inviting someone with whom you can walk on this journey. If there is someone in your life you’ve been thinking about inviting, please take the time to ask. Walking through Rescue Project with someone else can be even more powerful. Who in your life could use hope, encouragement, or a renewed sense of purpose?
