A welcoming next step, explore the Catholic faith, ask honest questions, and grow in relationship with Christ and His Church

Bring your questions and curiosity here

There’s a moment in every faith journey when curiosity deepens into something more. Questions become more open and real, conversations become more meaningful, and what once felt distant begins to feel personal.

For many, that moment comes after St. John the Evangelist experiences like Alpha or the Rescue Project, when the Gospel has been encountered in a real way. The next step isn’t just hearing about God, but beginning to understand what it means to live in relationship with Him and His Church.

That’s where Discovering Catholicism comes in.

A Natural Next Step in the Journey

Discovering Catholicism isn’t a class in the traditional sense, and it’s not the formal commitment of OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults). Instead, it lives in the space between—a place of exploration, conversation, and growth.

If you are someone, or know someone, who wants more, this is for you.

Beginning May 11 and continuing monthly through December, this gathering is designed for:

  • Those who have completed Alpha or the Rescue Project

  • Non-Catholics who are curious about the faith

  • Catholics who want to deepen and better understand what they believe

It’s intentionally laid-back, relational, and non-sacramental. There’s no pressure and no expectations—just an open invitation.

What to Expect Each Month

Meetings take place on the second Monday of each month at 7p.m. in the Upper Room, with a small group of about 10–15 people. That size creates space for real conversation and authentic connection.

A typical evening includes: an Opening prayer, personal testimony and time for meaningful discussions.

It’s not rushed. It’s not rigid. It’s built for relationships.

Topics That Matter

During the months, Discovering Catholicism explores the heart of what the Church teaches, always grounded in Scripture and lived experience.

Topics include:

  • God and creation (the very first session dives right in)

  • The nature and mission of the Church

  • Scripture and how Catholics read it

  • Prayer and developing a relationship with God

A Place Where Questions Are Good

One of the most important aspects of Discovering Catholicism is simple: you don’t have to have it all figured out.

This is a place where questions are welcomed, not avoided. Doubts can be voiced honestly. Different backgrounds are respected. Conversations help turn the wheels of understanding.

Over time, something beautiful often happens. The questions don’t disappear, but they begin to make sense in a new way. The pieces start to connect. What once felt confusing begins to feel coherent.

As one leader shares, “I love seeing the moment when it finally starts to click.”

You’re Invited

If you’ve been wondering what comes next…If something in your heart has been stirring…If you’re ready to explore, but not quite ready to commit…

Then this might be exactly where you’re meant to be.

Come as you are. Bring your questions. Stay for the conversations. And see what God might begin to unfold.
