Totus Tuus at St. John the Evangelist: Give Your Children a Summer Rooted in Faith, Friendship, and Fun!
Now is the time to sign up for Totus Tuus at SJE.
For one incredible week, children and teens are invited into an exciting Catholic experience centered on Jesus Christ, including: authentic friendship, joyful learning, Eucharistic worship, and fun-filled activities they will talk about long after summer ends.
Totus Tuus is more than just a summer program. It is an opportunity for young people to encounter Christ in a personal and joyful way while being surrounded by other Catholic youth their age.
The name Totus Tuus means “Totally Yours” the beloved motto of Pope John Paul II. It reflects a complete giving of oneself to Jesus through Mary, and that spirit is woven into every part of the program.
Something to look forward to this Summer!
Led by energetic and faith-filled young adult missionaries, Totus Tuus combines dynamic catechesis, daily Mass, prayer, games, music, skits, sacraments, and engaging activities that help young people discover that the Catholic faith is alive, joyful, and deeply meaningful.
This year, Totus Tuus will take place at SJE from June 7–12.
For many families, Totus Tuus has become one of the most anticipated weeks of the summer.
Jenn Laurenti shared how much her daughters have loved participating in this Christ-centered experience over the years.
She said her girls especially love attending daily Mass, meeting new friends, watching the entertaining plays and skits, collecting daily strings, and growing in their Catholic faith alongside other children their age.
There is one tradition they never forget!
“There is no doubt their favorite event is turning the counselors into human sundaes at the end of the week,” she said.
Behind the laughter and excitement is something even more important: a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ. And the missionaries themselves are equally transformed through the experience.
One of the missionaries who was turned into a human sundae, Ethan Vineyard, said he loved sharing the Catholic faith with participants and helping young people discover the beauty of life with Christ. "I couldn't recommend Totus Tuus enough!"
He explained that Totus Tuus missionaries give witness of their faith to the participants. "The children get to see the faith embodied in a very real way. They get to witness young adults who love life in its entirety; the missionaries also sing, dance, laugh, pray, and learn. The children see the fruit of a life of faith."
Totus Tuus offers something meaningful for every age group, with a daytime program for younger children and an evening program designed especially for middle school and high school students.
"In my time at Totus Tuus, I was able to see how our faith was seamlessly woven intot eh fabric of the children's lives," Ethan said. "They were able to see how God enters into everything: both fun and serious, sill and contemplative!"
The impact of Totus Tuus over the years.
For Jenn, the greatest gift has been watching her daughters’ faith come alive. “They have learned to love others the way God loves, treating others with respect and just getting closer to God through activities taught during the week.
“The girls really enjoy the week-long experience. They make new friends along with friends they already have in school. Picking them up and seeing their faces excited to talk about how they are learning new stories about God, as well as seeing their relationship with God develop and grow, is just the best!”
In a world where so many summer activities focus only on entertainment, Totus Tuus offers something deeper. It gives children and teens the chance to encounter Christ, strengthen their identity as Catholics, and build friendships rooted in faith.
They do not just learn about God. They experience His love through prayer, worship, community, and joy.
