Two Saints for Our Times ✨

The Church has given us two powerful witnesses of holiness—Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati

and Saint Carlo Acutis. Though they lived in different centuries, both point us toward God through their Eucharistic devotion and the way they lived their ordinary lives with extraordinary faith. Things that are so pertinent for us today.

I only learned about Pier Giorgio Frassati about a year and a half ago, only after hearing so much about the miracles and potential canonization of Carlo Acutis (1991–2006). But discovering Frassati (1901–1925) has been a gift—his story shows how joy, faith, and love can change the world.

Which of the two saints said this?

  1. The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.

  2. To the Heights.

  3. Jesus comes to me every morning in Holy Communion and I return the visit by serving the poor.

  4. Prayer during the Mass after consecration is the best time to ask God for Graces.

  5. Holiness is found even in our next door neighbors.

  6. In front of the sun you get a tan, in front of the Eucharist you become a saint.

Read to the end to see if you know these two saints' quotes….

Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati 🌄

Known as the “Man of the Beatitudes,” Frassati was a young man full of contagious joy. St. John Paul II named him a patron of World Youth Day, and Pope Francis lifted him up as one of the twelve exemplary saints for young people in Christus Vivit. Whether climbing mountains, serving the poor, or gathering with friends, Frassati lived his faith with authenticity. He reminds us that holiness is possible in the everyday—he is a patron for athletes, young adults, and “ordinary people” striving to live the Gospel.

Saint Carlo Acutis 💻

Fast forward to our own century: Carlo Acutis, nicknamed “God’s Influencer,” brought his love for Christ into the digital age. A computer whiz, he created a website cataloging Eucharistic miracles around the world, using technology to evangelize in a way young people could understand. He died of leukemia at just 15, but his deep devotion to the Eucharist and joyful spirit continue to inspire countless lives. He is the first millennial canonized saint.

Why They Matter Today 🌟

Just canonized by Pope Leo XIV on Sept. 7, saints Frassati and Acutis both show us that holiness isn’t about living in another world—it’s about living fully in this one, but with our eyes fixed on heaven. Their joy, courage, and Eucharistic devotion challenge us not to waste our lives, but to live them for God.

Two saints. Two different times. One timeless message: true greatness is found in friendship with Christ.
